Alta Planicie
Ribera del Duero is an important wine-producing area in northern Spain. Its reputation is largely thanks to the high-quality of its red Tempranillo based wines, the best examples of which are renowned throughout the world.
Our vineyards are one of the oldest in the region and up to 120 years old. We have been buying these small plots to ancients farmers during half century; this is why our average plots size is really small, meaning a very
complicated harvest but ensures the highest quality of our wines. The history behind our wine comes from the middle of the XV’s century when Queen Elizabeth’s army stopped close to our village on its way to the North of Spain. Captivated by the intense aroma, color and flavor of the tasted wines, they swore on their honor, to protect the land. Anyone who tried to wrest the secret of such a precious elixir would pay the wine value with its own blood.
